Reconfigured to meet states with magazine capacity restrictions, the 10-round Springfield Armory Prodigy builds on the proven 1911 platform by adding a double-stack design and performance-focused features. The polymer grip module attaches to a forged steel frame that includes an ambidextrous thumb safety and an integrated Picatinny rail, while the 4.25-inch heavy bull barrel is mounted on a forged steel slide that uses AOS (Agency Optic System) plates designed specifically for the 1911 DS. Machined from billet steel, each plate is crafted to provide proper optic height for an intuitive sight picture and features an integrated rear sight.
